A trip to Europe could be an eye-opening, exciting experience for a teenager. Meeting new people, seeing how other cultures live, and getting the chance to be fully immersed in a completely different society is a wonderful learning experience for any teenager. There are a variety of summer programs for teenagers. These programs allow the kids a chance to see a different part of the world and brush up on their language skills or learn a new language altogether, all without missing any of the school year.

While Europe is a big place, most summer programs for teenagers go to a few particular countries – Italy, France, Spain, Greece, and the United Kingdom. There are a lot of great reasons to go to any of these countries. Many summer programs choose Italy for obvious reasons. It’s the perfect place for teens to work on their Italian language skills, learn more about Italian culture, and get a great history lesson in the form of seeing ruins, architecture, and art from Ancient Rome. Greece is a good place for teens to visit on a summer program, too. Western civilization was founded there, and the country is full of cultural and architectural wonders.

Many summer programs for teenagers go to France. It’s a great place for teens to learn French, see historic sights, and get to know more about the French people. Spain is also a popular destination for summer programs. The Spanish people are known to be friendly and welcoming, and they have a fascinating culture that is of interest to teens. Plus, it’s a wonderful place to learn Spanish or brush up on existing Spanish skills. The United Kingdom is an obvious choice, as its inhabitants speak English, making it an easily accessible place for teenagers. Summer trips to England are very popular, as sharing a common language makes it easy to really get a sense for the culture and make new friends.

There are many different kinds of summer programs for teenagers. Some programs focus on an in-depth tour of one country, seeing the historical sites and learning more about the country. Other programs offer whirlwind tours of several different countries. Still other programs are mostly language-intensive, giving teenagers the opportunity to practice their language skills. Some programs are volunteer-based, where teenagers spend part of their summer volunteering in a European city. Many programs have the teens stay together in dormitories or hotels, but some programs offer the opportunity to stay with a host family. This can be a great way to learn more about the culture of a particular country, as well as meet new people and learn new language skills.

A trip to Europe could be the beginning of a world of opportunity for a teenager. As the world gets smaller and smaller, the future will be brightest for those who are willing to embrace the ever-changing global economy. Teenagers who have exposure to foreign cultures will be ahead of the pack when it comes to the future.

Paris, the capital of France, has a lot of attractive land marks. Along with London and Rome, Paris attracts millions of people each year to visit these sites and landmarks. The following are some of the main ones.

The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel tower was originally built as a monument to represent the world fair that took place in Paris in 1899. Before the fair, the government of France floated a competition to anyone one who would come forward with a unique design to be built for the fair. Many people entered the competition and so did an engineer named Gustav Eiffel. He presented a model of a tower, to be made entirely out of steel. His design won the competition and hence the tower was built bearing his last name. It was completed in 2 years, a record time in those days, and continued to hold the title “the tallest man made structure in the world” until the 1930’s. It measures at 1069 feet in height. Gustav Eiffel was one of the engineers who designed the Statue of Liberty in New York. Today, millions of people visit this man made monument each year.

The Louvre

The Louvre is one of the preeminent museums of the world and it is located in Paris or at Champs Elysees Boulevard to be precise. It is divided into three different wings on four floors. They are the Denon wing, Richelieu wing and Sully wing. It is perhaps one of the few museums in the world that has an underground floor. It houses virtually every type of painting styles and artifacts of the world, including but not limited to, medieval art, Egyptian antiques, Oriental antiques, Greek and Roman antiques, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish and English paintings. However, the Louvre is most famous for one painting, and that would be Leonardo, da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.” In fact, many people come to this museum just to see this painting!

The Arc de Triomphe

After the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triumph is perhaps the most recognizable land marc in Paris. It was designed and built by the famous French architect Jean Chalgrin by the order of the Napoleon who was the Emperor of France at that time. Work started in 1808 but took nearly 30 years to complete. It was built as sort of a war memorial to commemorate soldiers who died in the Napoleonic wars as well as the French revolution. The design of the Arc de Triomphe is considered to be Neo-classical style architecture.

The palace of Versailles

Interestingly, when the palace of Versailles was first built, it was not a palace at all, but a hunting lodge for Louis 13th. However when the great Louis 14th ascended the throne, he decided to move his court to this area and that is when the work became serious and it became a palace. This was in 1682 and the humble hunting lodge got transformed into an 800 room palace. The entire grounds covers over 36,000 acres and there nearly 1400 water fountains, each one with its own beauty and personality. The famous landscape architect “La Notre” designed the palace grounds. The palace houses the famous “mirror room” which is a very large room filled with mirrors and chandeliers.

Notre Dame

The Notre Dame is one of the oldest and well known cathedrals in France. Work on this magnificent building started in 12th century and took early 200 years to finish! It survived all these years of vandalism and even the French Revolution. Joan of Arc is associated with this cathedral as she would come here to pray. In fact, Pope Pius X beatified her in this cathedral.

The Champs-Elysees was initially fields and market gardens, until 1616, when Marie de Medici decided to expand the garden axis of the Palais des Tuileries by means of an street of trees.

Guillaume de L’Isle’s map of The french capital shows that a small stretch of roads and fields in addition to market garden plots still separated the imposing axe of the Tuileries gardens from the planted “Avenue des Tuilleries” as late as 1716.
By the late 1700s, the Champs-Elysees had turn into a trendy boulevard and the trees on either side had thickened enough to be given formal rectangular glades, known as cabinets de verdure. The gardens of houses built along the Faubourg St-Honore backed onto the formal bosquets, with the grandest of them all being the lysees Palace.
A semi-circle of residence fronts nowadays defined the north side of the Rond Point.
Queen Marie Antoinette drove with her friends and took music lessons at the Majestic Hotel de Crillon on the Place Louis XV. The boulevard from the Rond Point to the Etoile was built up during the Empire. To visit this wonderful place you can take an appartement montmartre
In 1828, the Boulevard des Champs-Elysees became municipality property, and footpaths, fountains and gas lighting were added.

Over the time, the boulevard has undergone numerous transitions, most recently in 1994, when the sidewalks were widened.
Because of its size and proximity to many Paris landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees has been made the place of many famous military parades, the most famous of which were the march of German troops celebrating the Fall of France on 14 June 1940 and the subsequent entry of free French and American armed forces into the capital subsequent to its liberation on 25 August 1944.
On Bastille Day, every year the principal military parade in Europe passes along the Champs-lysees, reviewed by the President of the Republic. To go in Paris you can book your location appartement montmartre

Each year from the end of November to end of December, the ‘Champs-Elysees’ Committee contributes to the lighting of the Champs-Elysees used for the holiday season.
The Champs-Elysees is also the long-established end of the last stage of the Tour de France.

The Place de la Concorde, that is the largest place in The french capital, is situated along the Seine and separates the Tuilerie Gardens from the beginning of the Champs Elyses. It is in the 8th arrondissement, or district, of the city.
The place was constructed to hold an equestrian statue of Louis XV that the town of The french capital commissioned in 1748 from Bouchardon to offer to the king. The place created an octagon bordered by big moats that no longer exist. In contrast to older places that had been closed, La Place de la Concorde, largely open, served as an intersection as well as a decoration. If you are searching for an accommodation near if that place you can louer appartement Paris.

It became the Place de la Rvolution and held in its center the guillotine that executed in particular Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Danton, Robespierre, and 2800 other people between 1793 and 1795. It is said that the smell of blood was so strong that a herd of cattle refused to cross the place. After the Revolution it suffered a series of transformations and many changes of name: place de la Concorde, place Louis XV again, place Louis XVI, place de la Chartre, and once again place de la Concorde to symbolize the end of a troubled era and the hope of a better future. To visit Place de la Concorde, you need a locations Paris

The place today maintains the general look that it had in the eighteenth century. The statue of Louis XV, removed during the Revolution, was replaced by the Obelisk of Luxor given by the viceroy of Egypt, Mohamed Ali, to Louis Phillipe. The obelisk, 22.83 meters high and weighing 230 tons, which marked the entrance to the Amon temple at Luxor, was installed in 1836. At all corner of the octagon is found a statue that represents one of the big French cities: Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Brest and Rouen.
The place is delimited to the north by l’Htel Crillon and l’Htel of the Navy Minister that frames the rue Royale, in the direction of the east by the Jeu de Paume and L’Orangerie of the Tuileries, in the direction of the west by the beginning of the Champs Elyss and to the south by the bridge of the Concorde built by Perronnet between 1787 and 1790.

Christmas in Paris might not be snowy white, but it’s hard to not be full with christmas optimism if you’re in Paris in December. The City of Lights lives up to its name in a large method, as the trees that line the Champs-Elyses are amongst the numerous plants in Paris that get covered with strings of lights, and the Eiffel Tower often becomes the main point of the night skyline with its sparkling lights.

In fact, viewing the christmas illumination in Paris is one of the top stuff to do when you’re checking out the city in December. The top places to go to check out the Paris christmas illumination are along the abovementioned Champs-Elyses, the length of the Rue Montorgueil and Rue Mouffetard, in the Place Vendome, in the windows of the huge department stores (including the renowned Galeries Lafayette), and at the Notre Dame Cathedral. It’s at Notre Dame that you’ll additionally get to have a look at Paris’ Christmas tree, and even if you’re not a religious character you could do worse than to attend a Christmas Eve ritual in the recognized cathedral. You can reach all of these sights from Appartment in Paris

A different Christmas tradition in Paris is the impermanent ice skating rinks that get arranged throughout the city. The venues each year may differ, but there are habitually rinks put up in the square near the Paris City Hall, also known as the Hotel de Ville, and close to Montparnasse. They tend to go up in mid-December and remain open over March, so even if you’re checking out Paris later than Xmas you can still take a spin. Generally speaking, to go ice skating in Paris on these impermanent rinks won’t cost you anything, but if you have to rent the ice skates that’ll be some euro.

Attending a ritual in one of Paris’ numerous churches can be a really great method to spend Christmas Eve, even if you’re not a super-religious character at home. And you don’t even have to be fluent in French to get the most out of a mass – there are numerous English-language ceremonies throughout the city you can take part in. Unluckily, the homepage for the Catholic churches of Paris appears to be completely in French – so you might call for some support from a French-native tongue colleague to translate it and locate the English ceremonies, or you can just ask the Paris tourism office or in your Hotel in Paris when you arrive in the city. Additionally to attending Christmas ceremony in Paris’ churches, you might additionally want to do a expedition|visit} of the churches during non-service times in order to see the many nativity scenes they’ve erected for the time of year.

Xmas in Paris, as well as the rest of France, tends to be a family holiday – which means that rather than dining out and partying with friends, Parisians are more likely to be eating huge meals in familiar apartments with relatives and partying in private. Still, for a voyager, Paris at Christmastime can still be dreamlike – there’s a sense of quiet that you might not find in Paris at any other time of year (although don’t think the streets will be abandoned or anything), and there’s something about the manner a city feels when it’s preparing for a family holiday that makes it feel cozy… Doesnt what the temperature is on the streets.

Flying to destinations throughout Europe has been popular with UK travelers for so long because of the proximity Britain has to its neighbors. In a time when people are talking about the credit crunch, it’s no surprise that European holidays work out as a cheaper alternative then going further afield. The various destinations work as beach holidays, as cultural breaks or romantic weekends; in fact the world, or rather Europe, is your oyster!

Traveling to Europe is simple and fairly cost effecting from the UK. There are lot of options to choose from depending on where you are in the UK. Firstly you will want to decide on your destination , because the prices are affordable and there are many options, some people take this opportunity to discover a new location. If you are booking online this is even easier, because you can enter the day you want to travel and the amount of people traveling, followed by the airport you want to leave from and then see which destinations are available.

Alternatively if you favor to go to a selected European place, then also this is very easy. There are many cheap airlines like BMI Baby, and Easyjet, which particularly fly to European short trips, and are thus affordable for everyone. Some of the better-quality airlines such as British Airways, offer flights to Europe, but they are costly. Contrasting to long distance flights, opting for a extravagant airline may be pointless; the trip is so small that opulence and comfort isn’t required.

Popular European destinations include France, Italy, Spain and Germany. All of these countries have an abundance of airports and you will be directed to the one closest to the city you want to visit. In France there is Paris, as well the northern and southern territories. In Spain there are main cities like Madrid, but there are also the Holiday Islands that are filled with sand and sun. Many UK airports will fly to these locations because they are so popular.

Do visit the beauty spots such as the Bruges, Belgium; and Prague, Czech Republic. These destinations are popular for having spectacular architecture; there are frequent flights to such destinations, needless to mention numerous accommodations available all the year round. Prague also is home to one chief airport, which is contemporary and airlines like Jet2, British Airways, Easyjet, and BMI Baby operate cheap flights here.

Scandinavia is a stunning part of the continent, and is filled with historical places, and many cultural traits; such as Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Iceland. You may have to look a little more to get flights to these destinations, however they are available. Easyjet and Finnair operate flights to Denmark, and so does the British Airways. To visit one of these particular destinations, visit the airlines website and look for the location to see if its available.

Traveling to Europe is in rage as it takes less time and saves money. With a valid British passport, citizens of UK can easily go to Europe. For some good deals, you can look for the last minute and with cheap airlines deals. Remember to see the exact last minute holidays listed on websites, such as lastminute.com, as they help you find a cheap deal for flights and accommodation. This saves money and time. This gives enough reasons to holiday in Europe.

Marseille is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in France. There are flights from the UK to Marseille from both London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Marseille Provence Airport is the city’s main airport and is the fourth largest airport in France. Expect to see both tourists and business travelers crowding its terminals. The city also has an excellent public transportation system.

Marseille lies on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea on the southeast coast, the Cote-d-Azur, of France. It has the country’s largest commercial port. The Old Port that fell into disuse after the’70s oil crises has been redeveloped into a bustling residential and tourist destination with assistance from the European Community.

The completely refurbished Old Port is now home to hotels, restaurants, bars, and caf?s, as well as a private marina. This renovated port is north of the new active commercial port, where over 100 million tons of freight?the majority of it petroleum?pass every year. Marseille’s position as a hub for industry and trade is complemented by its excellent infrastructure for travel by air, land, or sea. It is one of the major ports of entry into France, especially popular with travelers from Italy, Spain, Greece, and the Middle East.

With its location on the Mediterranean Sea, Marseille has mild winters and hot summers. The coldest months of the year are January and February, with July and August being the area’s hottest months. Harsh, cold winds blow into the city from the Alps in the winter and spring.

It is also headquarters for the Marseille Provence Metropolis, the second largest research center in the country. Thousands of research scientists are employed at the Marseille Provence Metropolis.

But besides all the industry, UK travelers will find no shortage of museums, theaters, shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants in Marseille. Lovers of theater will be especially pleased by the wonderful repertoires of le Gymnase, the Teatre Toursky, and la Crie?. The opera season runs from September until June.

Like other areas of France, It is well-known for its incredible food. Local favorites include pastis, which is an alcoholic beverage similar to beer made with aniseed and spice. Other popular items are aioli (mayonnaise) served on fish or hardboiled eggs, tapenade, bouillabaisse, panisse and navette. All dishes are made with local ingredients, which make them very flavorful. Many restaurants can be found in the city’s Old Port area, which is the site of a daily fish market. The Old Port area is very beautiful at night, making it a popular spot for a long evening meal.

Beautiful architecture can also be found in Marseille, including the Abbey of Saint Victor, one of the oldest places of Christian worship in France, the Museum of Old Marseille and the Phare de Sainte Marie, a lighthouse on the inlet to the Old Port.

With everything that Marseille offers UK tourists, it is easy to see why it is growing in popularity as a vacation destination every year.

There are several ways to save on Paris hotels when visiting the Eiffel Tower Paris France. You may consider renting a fully-equipped, one-bedroom apartment near the Pompidou Centre, which goes for less than $200/night. Peruse sites like www.rothray.com, www.rentalfrance.com and www.parisaddress.com to find a cozy place for a great price. If you’re fixed on the idea of a full-service hotel, then you can try one of the moderately-priced establishments like Hotel Langlois, Hotel les Degros de Notre Dame, or Hotel du Dragon, which are all under $200/night as well.

At first glance, the Eiffel Tower looks as though it is firm, immovable and unchanging. Yes, it is constructed using a hefty 7,300 tonnes of metal and it is over 120 years old now, but did you know the 984-foot tower shrinks six inches on cold days? Additionally, the tower is currently wet. Its massive repainting began in March 2009 and is expected to take 18 months to complete, using 60 tons of paint in three different shades of brown. Occasionally, you may look out your Paris hotel window and catch a glimpse of an Eiffel Tower ad campaign. In the twenties and thirties, ads for Citroen cars adorned three of the sides. During World War II, German troops hung their banners from the tower to celebrate their takeover of the city. In the late seventies, a Greenpeace protestor hung a “Save the Seals” sign on the tower. Today, ads are rarely seen on the monument, but a company called Apoteo Surprise will flash your personal engagement message under the Eiffel Tower for €2,490.

The Eiffel Tower Paris France is one of the main tourist attractions in all of France. Compared to other architectural wonders, Eiffel is king. New York’s Empire State Building may bring in over 3.5 million visitors each year, but that’s a paltry sum compared to the 5.9 to 6.9 million sightseers drawn to the height of Paris fashion and architecture. Americans who can’t afford the cost of a Paris vacation may want to visit Eiffel Tower Paris Las Vegas’s half-scale replica, which is a few thousand dollars cheaper to fly to and $7.25 cheaper to ascend to the top.

While visiting the Eiffel Tower Paris France, many people enjoy walking tours below the monument, where they can view the River Seine, century-old trees, towering skyscrapers and breathtaking palaces. Other people wish to see some of the world-famous museums France has to offer, including the Louvre. Architecture lovers will also want to see the Arch de Triomphe, the Notre Dame de Paris and the Champs Elysee. Other cities that are less than 3 hours away by train include Dijon, Rennes, Avignon, Aix en Provence, Strasbourg, Normandy, Annecy, La Rochelle, Tours and Lyon.

Imagine taking a first class, eleven-day journey from America to Paris, London and Rome for less than $3,000 (plus airfare). It may sound incredulous, but the travel industry has its own web of contacts that guarantee the best deals. For instance, agencies and tour operators provide Paris hotels, Rome tours and London restaurants with a steady stream of business and, in return, they offer discounted group rates and special deals that you could never find on your own. Many of these travel itineraries leave you enough flexibility and space to do some independent adventuring, while providing you with the safety and security of transportation and lodging that is already covered.

Brendan Tours will take you to London England, where you’ll board one of the morning London bus tours that takes you to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. You’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own during day two and day three. On day four, you’ll receive a number of itinerary options, whether it’s a day of museums and theater, walking through parks or along the Thames River outdoors or shopping in the Knightsbridge district. Day five will board you on a motor coach to travel from London to your next location Paris, France, where you’ll view White Cliffs, the French channel and over World War I battlefields. On day six, you’ll have a sightseeing tour that shows you the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Place de la Concorde and the Fragonard Perfumery. On day seven, many travelers visit the Louvre or the Musee d’Orsay. The following day, you’ll board a train that traverses through French vineyards and the Appennine Mountains to Rome, Italy, where Rome tours awaits you on day nine. This tour will take you to the Forum, the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican. Day ten many people spend at Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel or partaking in some of Italy’s delicious restaurants. Finally, your vacation will come to an end on day eleven, but you’ll be amazed at how much you were able to soak in during such a short amount of time.

Your Brendan Tours travel package not only includes London bus tours, Rome tours and Paris tours, but also hotel accommodations in each city. In London, you’ll be staying at the four-star Cumberland Hotel, which features artistic contemporary design so you’ll feel like you’re staying right inside a modern art museum. The conveniently located hotel sits opposite of the Marble Arch and Hyde Park, just a stone’s throw from the prestigious Oxford Street and Bond Street. You’ll have Egyptian cotton linens, a power shower and internet access in your gorgeous room. In Paris, you’ll stay at the Hotel Tour Eiffel Suffren, which is the official Eiffel Tower Paris hotel, sitting at the base of the landmark monument. You’ll have a great view of the Eiffel’s base from your room and you’ll enjoy a sumptuous breakfast each morning, overlooking the hotel garden. In Rome, you’ll stay at the luxurious, four-star Cicerone hotel, which is very close to Castel St Angelo, the Vatican and the Pantheon. You’ll also have a night sleeping aboard a sleeper train on your way from Paris to Rome.

In addition to the Paris, London and Rome tours listed, Brendan Tours offers a number of low-cost vacation itineraries. In fact, their most-booked countries are Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States. For instance, you could spend a week in Munich, Salzberg and Vienna for just $1,272. You may want to tour the Alpine, the Blue Danube, the Rhine castles or the settings from “The Sound of Music,” all which are possible through this operator. While you’re vacationing, you’ll be happy to find the Paris hotels and other accommodations are top-notch, sophisticated, comfortable and no less than four stars.

If you are planning a trip to Paris there are three landmarks that you must save time for but there are of course many more attractions than just those three, but these are the big ones. The three I refer to are The Arch de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Theater which cannot be missed even if they each have many hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

If you are a museum lover then you could spend days wandering around the tens of thousands of exhibits in the Louvre just like hundreds of other tourists. Some of the most well known paintings and works of art are either stored or displayed here including the infamous Mona Lisa which is just one reason to visit.

As far as the weather is concerned, most tourists are lucky and can visit at any time of the year without to many worries about any form of extreme weather. For example the normal winter temperature is in the upper 30′s to lower 40′s degrees Fahrenheit which means it is still comfortable to walk around and in the summer months this rises to a more pleasant 75 degrees Fahrenheit which means you will never really overheat while visiting attractions.

If you are flying to Paris, you will land at one of the two airports it currently has but will probably be the Roissy-en-France airport as it one of the busiest international airports in the world. As Roissy-en-France is so large it is able to have direct flights both incoming and outgoing to most of the international destinations.

All types of people like to visit Paris and it is not difficult to see why as it promises something for everyone with an air of culture that should not be missed. It would be hard to visit Europe at any time without spending a few days in Paris which is a city that has something for every imaginable taste.

However Paris is a beautiful city to visit, you should also try out Amsterdam. Not as big as Paris, but very much alive. Be sure to prepare your stay and book an apartment in Amsterdam before you leave home.
