There are, quite literally, thousands of gold courses in Great Britain and Ireland which makes visiting every one of them to find your favourite an impossibility. What’s more, there are a large portion of these that aren’t really worth the green fees as well as those that are prohibitively expensive, members only, or otherwise restricted. However, no matter where you live or where you’re visiting, you can be assured of finding high quality golf courses to enjoy a good round of golf alone or with friends.

Royal Birkdale

There are four Royal English golf courses that are British Open venues – Birkdale, St Georges, Lytham St Annes, and Liverpool. Royal Birkdale is widely considered to be one of the best courses in the world and is certainly one of the best places in England to play golf. It is situated just outside Southport and poses a real challenge to all golfers, including the best of the professionals. Winds can whip up a frenzy making every round a completely different challenge.

St Georges

St Georges, just outside Sandwich is also one of the most popular courses in England and was, in fact, the first English course to host the Open Championships. To this day it is the fourth most used Open venue. This natural course benefits from undulating ground and plenty of sand, although if you don’t keep the ball firmly on the fairway you’re unlikely to see it as any kind of benefit. Expect a real challenge from a course that has enjoyed numerous high profile celebrity members.

Ails, Turnberry

There are some equally stunning and challenging courses just over the border in Scotland, too, though some aren’t for the faint of heart. 18 miles away from Ayr, for example, lies the incredibly scenic Ailsa course, part of the Turnberry Resort. With views to the Mull of Kintyre and the Isle of Arran, it can be easy to forget that you’re there to play golf and instead spend the hours taking in the incredible scenery. When you do turn your attention back to the game in hand, though, you will be treated to an array of incredible holes including Bruce’s Castle which takes you past the ruined castle of Robert the Bruce.

Muirfield

Muirfield, the third most used Open Championship course, has hosted the Open 15 times and features coastal fairways, deep and difficult bunkers, and some incredible driving opportunities. There’s also very deep rough to have to contend with as well as small greens which make approach shots a real challenge even for the most initiated of golfers. Muirfield is definitely a course that every golfer should try to play at least once.

Watching a pro golfer hit a beautiful, straight and long drive can either be really inspirational or really frustrating. Learning how to swing the club is a vital skill for aspiring golfers of any skill level or age. Take advantage of these quick tips to help improve your swing and your entire golf game:

1) Focus and keep a relaxed state while driving the ball because you need a loose and nice grip.

2) Your head should then be kept down throughout the whole swing. Therefore, you should not follow the ball?s flight but focus on the spot where you hit the ball. Keeping your eye on the ball throughout your swing can increase yardage on your drives.

3) You should release later during the swing, because the further down your downswing, the further you will be able to hit the ball. Once this technique is mastered, you will be able to increase its power.

4) You should work on lengthening your swing, which means keeping your arms all the way extended and operating through a full range of motion.

5) Many people don’t rotate properly while aligning their backswing. It’s important that you achieve a complete, proper and tight rotation so that you maintain accuracy and strength.

6) Transferring your energy throughout the swing is the most important since you would want to make that powerful hit. Make sure that you are not putting much weight on your back foot since you will not be able to hit that ball far at all. Your weight must then be shifted to the front leg. This enables you to move the energy towards the ball.

Nothing can instantly improve your golf swing besides spending a lot of time practicing. You may never be able to drive the ball 300 yards like the pros do, but you can significantly increase your driving length and accuracy with the proper tools. Follow these tips to help jumpstart your game and improve your swing.

Focus, determination, and relentless perseverance are the keys to becoming a better golfer with new golf swing. If you utilize these traits you will be able to lower your golf score significantly and become a better golfer. These traits are important!

Confident golf players always do better than golf players that are not confident at all. Players that lack confidence usually have a weaker golf swing. Part of this has to do with the fact that they are indecisive when they are swinging.

If you want to lower your golf score significantly then you need to find a way to increase the confidence that you play with. Lack of confidence can often result in being jittery before a shot. Being jittery like this can result in a bad play being made. Before taking each shot you should visualize the shot before hand. You should visualize exactly where you want to place the ball as well as visualizing yourself taking the actual shot.

Practicing vital approach shots over and over again are the key to being a successful golfer. The best golfers in the world practice for hours upon hours each day. This gives them the ability and the opportunity to lower their score significantly during each and every golf game. Approach shots are important because they give you the opportunity to go for a birdie when you are on the putting green. Practicing also helps to increase your level of confidence when you are playing golf. This increased confidence will decrease the amount of jitters you have before you take a shot. Over time, this practice will allow you to use stronger and longer clubs which will allow you to be a better golfer.

One of the most useful types of shots in golf is called the pitch shot. The pitch shot similar to the high pitch-and-run shot. Most golfers do not realize that the low pitch-and-run shot results in significantly less carry. It does result in significantly more run. This type of shot can be one of the most useful types of shots in certain scenarios. One of the best scenarios for using this type of shot is when there is a strong wind. When taking this type of shot it is also important to lean slightly back on your back foot. You should keep all of these things in mind when taking your shot as well as when you take a run-up with a club that is straight. Five-irons are often the club of choice for this type of shot, but it is ultimately your decision when it comes to what type of club you use!

One of the most troublesome tasks in the game of golf is playing a ball when it is in the rough. There are several important factors that you should keep in mind when playing a ball in the rough. First of all, putting any type of spin on a ball that is in the rough is significantly more difficult than it is when hitting a ball on the fairway. You should always remember that the ball will roll more and not stick when it is played in the rough. You should take this into consideration when calculating how much power to put on your shot.

A golfer’s stance can often be the deciding factor as to whether or not he is going to have a successful shot. Left foot positioning is the key to having a successful shot as a golfer. A lot of golfers make the mistake of leaning back on their right foot when they are in a difficult or troublesome spot. Another mistake that many amateur golfers make is gripping the club too tightly. This can often result in them hitting the ball too hard or in the wrong spot. Moderate grips are still the best type of grip even if you are in a difficult situation.

Bunker shots are also important when trying to become a world class golfer.

Most golfers believe that the bunker shot is one of the most difficult shots in the game of gold. The fact of the matter is that the bunker shot can sometimes be one of the easiest shots. The best situation that you can have in a bunker is if the ball is lying on top of fine sand and dry sand. If this is the situation then you have an extremely easy shot on your hands so there is no need to worry!

One of the best types of golf clubs to use in this type of a situation is a heavy-sand iron. You should also put the face of your club slightly back. This will allow you to properly strike the golf ball. It is important to realize that the face of the club is in the opposite position that it would be in if it was hooded. Your stance is vital when striking a ball in the bunker. The best position for you stance is an open stance. Planting your feet extremely firmly in the ground is also vital to a successful shot. A lot of new golfers accidently slip on the sand during their shot. If you make sure your feet are in the ground properly then you will not slip at all. Striking a ball in the bunker requires a very different type of stroke. When you hit a ball in the bunker you are actually hitting the sand that is an inch or two before the ball instead of the ball itself.

Playing a ball in a bunker can be very difficult if you have never done it before. A ball should always be struck directly if it is in the fairway. When striking the ball in the bunker you actually do not strike the ball. When you strike a ball that is in the sand you strike the sand that is one to two inches before the ball. It is important that you NEVER strike the ball itself when it is in the sand. If you do this you risk pushing the ball deeper into the sand. You should slowly move your club back outside the line and then utilize a normal downswing. If you do everything correctly you will be able to easily play the ball up and out of the sand trap

The best golfers in the world can do this perfectly. If you do everything like this you can successfully get the golf ball to go where you want it to go. By striking the sand instead of the ball you actually create a cushion of sand on the edge of the club. The cushion of sand will then allow you to easily play the ball onto the green or fairway.

A lot of golfers make the silly mistake of trying to manipulate the club head when they are trying to play a golf ball out of the sand. If you try and manipulate the head of a golf club you may accidentally mess up your shot. When striking a ball that is in the sand you should always use a gentle stroke and try to maintain the direction that the club is facing. If you do this you will be able to get the ball out of the sand trap successfully. You should also avoid turning your wrist at all costs. If you allow your wrist to roll over then you have a problem. It is also vital to maintain the length of your follow through as well as your back swing.

By mastering the bunker shot you will be able to successfully become a better golfer!

Others are attracted by its beautiful beaches. Others, still, come to spend golf holidays in Northern Ireland. After all, there are many golf courses in Northern Ireland that are surrounded by spectacular scenery.

Founded in 1881, the Royal Belfast Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Northern Ireland, which is also one of the reasons for its popularity. Designed by H.S. Colt, the course presents various challenges for golfers, while at the same time providing relaxing views of the Antrim Plateau and the Belfast Lough just beyond.

Although not as old, the Royal County Down Golf Club has been around for a long time, too. If you are an expert spending golf holidays in Northern Ireland, you’ll want to try out the Championship Link. On the other hand, if you’re a beginner or want to play a relaxing game of golf, you can play at the Annesley Links, which is the easier course.

The Castlerock Golf Club has two links courses, as well – the more challenging 18-hole Mussenden Course and the easier but equally enjoyable 9-hole Bann Course. Designed by Ben Sayers, both courses offer breathtaking views, since they are both surrounded by streams, sand hills and other amazing natural landscapes.

The most popular of all the golf courses in Northern Ireland, though, is the Royal Portrush Golf Club, which is also one of the main reasons why golfers spend their holidays in Northern Ireland. Indeed, the Royal Portrush Golf Club is consistently listed among the world’s top golf courses, particularly because of its breathtaking scenery and the challenges it presents to even the most experienced golfers.

The Ballycastle Golf Club is quite impressive, too, with a newly renovated clubhouse and a course which consists of both parkland and links. The clubhouse offers luxurious lounge bars and function rooms, while the course offers a diversity of challenges because of its diverse terrain.

You can play golf at the Radisson Roe Park, as well. Although one of the most recent golf courses in Northern Ireland, the 18-hole parkland course is already a popular one and is well known for its challenging water features. There are excellent golfing facilities around the course, too, such as a driving range and a putting green, as well as an excellent hotel right nearby where you can spend the night after spending a day on the course.

There are several other excellent golf courses, too, such as the Clandeboye Golf Club in Bangor and the Ardglass Golf Club in Downpatrick. And if you want to take a break from golf, there are also many other interesting things to do and see. This way, you’ll surely enjoy your holidays in Northern Ireland.

Halfway down the east coast of Fuerteventura is the resort town of Caleta de Fuste. Tourists will be amazed with its sandy beaches that are partly natural and partly man-made. Caleta de Fuste is also known as El Castillo, which literally means the “Castle”. The reason for this is that an 18th century watchtower still stands by the harbor near a lighthouse.

Tourists would find Caleta de Fuste the perfect place for an effortless beach holiday. If you are the type of person who prefers wholesome vacation fun with your family and not much nightlife, make Caleta de Fuste your vacation destination. Avid golfers would also love to play at the resort’s golf course.

The main tourist spot of the resort is the Playa Caleta de Fuste, which is a stunning beach. The beach has a breakwater so that children and those who can’t swim well will be able to safely swim. Around six miles south of Fuerteventura’s island airport, Caleta de Fuste is the busiest holiday resort. Tourists flock the resort town and be astonished at the sloping beach that is shaped like a horse-shoe.

caleta de fuste is definitely gaining popularity among holiday goers and vacation facilities are starting to sprout everywhere within the island resort. One of the recent additional vacation facilities is the golf course.

Low-rised buildings that houses numerous restaurants and bars dominate the long main street of the resort. Some of these well-known restaurants include Risto Pizza La Torre and the Fado Rock Steak House. For those in search of fun nightlife, Caleta de Fuste has Mappy’s Bar.

Of course, this exotic resort town is full of water activities. Aside from swimming in the inviting waters of the ocean, tourists can also go on a boat trip. For a much wilder kind of water adventure, an undersea excursion on a submarine is also offered in the resort. If you want to explore the rest of the island, it would be wise if you hire a car.

Come and see us in costa caleta

PGA golf stands for Professional Golfer’s Association. This is where all the big shots of golf withh good golf grip play. Is there any way that the average Joe or Jill golfer can be a part of PGA golf? The answer is yes.

PGA University

Believe it or not, but there is actually a university that one can attend; it is called the Professional Golf Management University Program and takes around four years to graduate. This program helps the student gain skills to be successful in the golf industry through extensive classes and internships. There are 18 of these universities nationwide!

PGA Professional Golf Management Program

The PGA Professional Golf Management Program is a great way to get into PGA golf. This program offers great training in golf management. They offer jobs from club fittings to rules official to golf course architect to the head professional at a PGA recognized golf course. Some requirements are having a high school diploma and having 36 work credits. This program includes long hours of studying and reading of books. You must also pass the PAT. The PAT is just simply the playing ability test. One must golf 36 holes and get the approved score twice. It sounds easy, but only 20 per cent pass this test for better golf swing.

How to Pass

Both of these programs prepare you in a career of many aspects of golf; not just playing like Tiger Woods. However, getting into PGA golf is not as easy as swinging you club. It does require a lot of studying at an approved university. For those who see golfing as just a hobby, then they should not pursue PGA golf.

On the PGA golf site, there are many tips and strategies listed. To do well, one must have great time management, note taking skills, effective listening and reading skills, ability to memorize and take tests on golf backswing. John Gudauskas writes that the best way to go through this program with flying colors is to, “Set goals, prioritize, do your best work, follow directions, prepare, use counselors and apprentices to your advantage, share your work with your employers, and enjoy your accomplishments”.

Some Questions to Ask Yourself

Just like Harvard and Yale are not for everyone, neither is PGA golf. Before you pursue this career opportunity, you might want to ask yourself some questions. Such questions include, “What do I know about PGA America?”, “What am I willing to do to accomplish my dreams?”, and “If I do not participate in this program, will I regret it later?”

Your club’s Match Play or Club Championship is coming up, so how do you get your game in shape? Your tournament will not have grand stands and TV cameras but do not think you will not feel the pressure. With a little thought and preparation, you can give yourself the needed confidence to beat your archrival, win the Club Championship or Match Play tournament. Go to sporting events for more information.

Granted with your tournament nerves, you are probably not going to be swinging as smooth as Ernie Els when the big day arrives. Now is NOT the time to start messing with your golf swing. I repeat. It is NOT the time to make any major golf swing changes. First of all this is supposed to be fun. You know, better than anyone, your own tendencies. Depending on how much time you have before your golf tournament, chances are you are going to have to find a way to play with what you got. This is fine.

Most of these types of tournaments are flighted. This means players with similar handicaps are pitted against each other. What you can do is check your basics. Review your posture, grip, alignment, and ball position and insure they are in the best shape they can be for your game. Hitting balls is fine but do not go overboard on making changes. The most effective thing you can work on is your swing tempo and insuring that your golf swing is in balance. You can do this by simply counting to three once you finish your golf swing.

Since the average of greens hit in regulation on the PGA Tour is only twelve, you will miss some greens during your round. Set up a practice schedule for your short game up until the golf tournament. You can go out in the evenings when the course is quiet. Go from green to green hitting multiple pitch and chip shots from all around the green. In addition, choose a couple of “nasty” lies just in case you hit a good shot that ends up in a bad place. Although the ultimate goal is to hole the ball, sometime you may need to play away from the hole to be able to make the next shot easier. Refer to golf events for further information.

Spend most of your time on the practice putting green working on short putts, very short putts. Hit as many two to three foot putts as you can. This does a couple of things for you. First it gives you confidence to see the ball go in the hole over and over again. Second, you will be able to see if you are starting the golf ball on the correct line.

Do not forget to take a look at your golf equipment. Are your grips in good shape? Do they need replaced? If your grips do not need to be replaced, scrub them vigorously with a stiff brush. Use a solution of warm water and dishwashing soap with a degreaser to clean your grips. The degreaser will help remove the oil and dirt buildup that accumulates from your hands over a period of time. Rinse your grips well and pat dry with a towel.

Tournament day is here! Go through your normal warm up. Hit a few pitches, and make sure before you leave the practice green you make about five or ten two footers in a row. Seeing and hearing the ball go in the hole will give you great confidence as you head to the golf course. Visit sports events for further information

A small vehicle meant to carry two golfers with good golf swing and their golf bags around the golf course faster and without much effort may be termed a golf cart. There are many types of golf carts and they are now used to convey a small number of golfers for short distances and at a slow and steady pace that should not exceed 15MPH according to ANSI Standard z130.1.

Gas Driven or Electrically Operated

The golf cart may be powered by small gas engines or may derive their power from electrically run motors which were the first mass produced electric vehicles made for the private use of consumers. The leading manufacturer of the golf carts in the United States is Ingersoll Rand Corporation. Present day carts can be styled to look like normal cars even though they are quite small in size but still can have accessories such as audio entertainment, custom wheels and customized body panels, in many colors.

More and more brands of golf carts are becoming available with each passing year. Manufacturers have been able to offer more improved features but in spite of this, it remains much the same as it was, from the beginning when it made its first appearance. To get an idea about the different attributes of a golf cart, it may be necessary to study consumer oriented services and find the one most suited for individual needs.

The golf cart is built using different parts and thus responds differently to wear and tear. With the help of consumer reviews, one can get a good idea about how particular golf carts would function as well as get feedback from other users. The electric golf cart has been around for quite some time and it has always caught the fancy of golfers with new golf swing, being a simple and effective way of commuting the golf course. Having decided on using a cart on your next golfing round, it would also be necessary to consider accessories that go with it.

A number of golf cart accessories will greatly help in making the golfer’s conveyance more comfortable as well as convenient to use and have him concentrate on better golf backswing, but some accessories can needlessly clutter the golf cart. Holders, caddy compartments and a first aid kit are obviously pretty useful accessories and for a more stylish look, one could also throw in chrome enhancements as well as hub caps.

A sport in which an individual or a team of individuals hit a small white ball into holes with the help of different clubs is known as golf and is one of the few ball golf short game‘s that do not require a fixed playing area. The definition of golf under the Rules of Golf can be summarized as being the playing of a ball with the help of a club from a teeing off point into a hole by one or more successive strokes in conformance with the rules of the game.

Scotland is often thought of as being the home of golf and has been known to the British Isles for centuries. The game is avidly played there and the oldest golf course in the world is situated at Musselburgh and is known as The Old Links. The Old Links has hosted golf as we have come to know it today since 1672 though earlier versions had also been played and known of in the British Isles as well as other countries of Northern Europe many centuries earlier. It is primarily an upper-class sport but has increased in popularity and become accessible to almost everyone today.

Playing the Game

There are a number of holes that must be played in a given order and a round of golf usually consists of eighteen holes that have to be played in an order as determined by the layout of the course. A nine-hole course would mean playing two successive nine-hole rounds. By playing the ball from a teeing box the player needs to put the ball into a hole in the green that is an area of finely cut grass. Stroking the ball into the hole is known as putting with the ball being hit along the ground. The idea is to rest the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible in order to win the hole and there are many hazards along the way to contend with such as bunkers and water hazards.

The players with good golf swing usually walk the course though there are motorized carts to take them as well and a caddie who holds the golf bag for the player and also gives advice will accompany the player throughout the duration of the game. The player needs to tee-off or take the first shot from the tee-off point of the hole and when all the players of a particular round have completed bringing the ball into play, the player with the longest shot is next to play. Whoever wins the hole is given the honor of teeing off the next round.

There are certain terms used in golf such as albatross or double-eagle, eagle, birdie, par, bogey, double bogey, and triple and quadruple bogies. There are also two forms of playing golf with new golf swing and these are known as match play and stroke play and the former alludes to every player playing each hole as a separate contest with another player while the latter alludes to every player counting the number of strokes taken for the entire round or tournament to arrive at a total score with the lowest scorer being the winner.
